Frantiska + Tim Gilman
Frantiska & Tim Gilman (1973 Prague - 1971 Connecticut) . Frantiska & Tim Gilman attended the Prague Biennale , and almost simultaneously a major solo show at Kunsthalle Basel and Berlin. The two artists working together since 2000 and currently live between Prague and New York. Their work is based mainly, but not only about painting : according to the dictates of the new hyper-realistic style , which stressed today the intense relationship between painting, photography and new media, the Gilman depict the everyday life as a still image . Portraits , educated people gestural immediacy but also real and virtual spaces that work almost like environments and scenarios of their characters. The painting of Gilman , therefore, is based on a broad conceptual brought to be defined as a hybrid field of tensions that come gradually to involve other means. Speaking of their work together , the two artists say : " we have reached the final form of our work through collaboration. This dichotomy of subjectivity and objectivity , near and far, is reflected in other aspects of the work : voltage, dualism , distance we hear from the real - that is kind or another , society , images or rental terms . "
