Michael Ackerman

BIOGRAFIA
Michael Ackerman è nato a Tel Aviv il 3 settembre 1967. Nel 1974 emigra a New York. Tra il 1993 e il 1997 viaggia spesso in India e le fotografie scattate sono oggetto del suo primo libro “End Time City”, che ottiene il Prix Nadar nel 1999. Dal 1997 entra a far parte dell’Agenzia e Galleria VU’ di Parigi. Sin dalla sua prima esibizione nel 1999 è chiaro che l’approccio alla fotografia di Michael Ackerman è nuovo, radicale e unico. Nel 1998 gli viene conferito il prestigioso Infinity Award for Young Photographer dell’International Center of Photography di New York. Le sue fotografie fanno parte di importanti collezioni a livello internazionale. Negli ultimi anni Ackerman ha insegnato workshops e masterclasses all’ICP di New York, alla Neue Schule Fur Fotografie a Berlino e in varie altre scuole e istituzioni nel mondo.

Michael Ackerman was born in Tel Aviv on September 3, 1967. In 1974 he emigrated to New York. Between 1993 and 1997 he often traveled to India and the photographs he took were the subject of his first book "End Time City", which was awarded the Prix Nadar in 1999. From 1997 he joined the VU 'Gallery and Agency in Paris. Since his first performance in 1999 it is clear that Michael Ackerman's approach to photography is new, radical and unique. In 1998 he was awarded the prestigious Infinity Award for Young Photographer from the International Center of Photography in New York. His photographs are part of important international collections. In recent years Ackerman has taught workshops and masterclasses at the ICP in New York, at the Neue Schule Fur Fotografie in Berlin and in various other schools and institutions around the world.
